La montura ecuatorial y para qué sirve
La montura ecuatorial o paraláctica se alinea con el eje de la Tierra y sigue a las estrellas dibujando un arco circular. Así, en lugar de controlar dos ejes, solo hay que manejar uno para mantener el objeto en el centro del campo visual. Es muy práctica para la observación e imprescindible para la astrofotografía.
Existen dos variantes:
- Montura alemana
- Montura de horquilla
Aunque parecen distintas, su principio de funcionamiento es el mismo: constan de dos ejes basculantes.
- Eje de ascensión recta
- Eje de declinación
El eje de ascensión recta se alinea con el polo norte celeste, en las proximidades de la estrella polar, para quedar paralelo al eje de rotación de la Tierra. Los buscadores polares resultan muy útiles a la hora de realizar esta alineación. El eje de declinación se encuentra a 90º en perpendicular.
